Hi all,

Last year for France I used the 'guide oficiel camping et caravanning' or title to that effect which was absolutely invaluable for looking up sites as we went as well as having municipals in it.

We are thinking of going into Germany, Luxembourg, maybe even further into Eastern Europe and Croatia.

Any good camping books you could recommend for this please? We are 2 adults only in a VW camper so like basic sites....in fact consider anything really!!!

We got a very good Germany campsite book from the German Tourist office in London, just give then a ring and they will send you one. hope this helps.

If you are travelling outside the main school holidays (July and August) you can do very well just using the ACSI camping card scheme book, which contains details of sites all over Europe where you can stop at the discounted rate, between 11-15€ per night for pitch, 2 people and electricity.

Even if you are going in peak season, the book or the associated website will give you quite a good selection of campsites in many countries, and act as a pretty good indicator of what to expect, and often also where the main resorts/attractions can be found. www.campingcard.com
