Hi,

I'm off to France shortly and need caravan accident cover so that my caravan is re-patriated.

I've looks at quite a few companies(Simple , E&L) but thier re-patriation is limited to the UK.

Are there any companies that do European cover. and are there any that would offer insurance for just the 2 weeks I'm away ?

I left a forum on this asking about Britannia Rescue but I have decided to stay with Red Pennant dearer but you get what you pay for with them

Be careful here. you can get car breakdown insurance that covers recovery & repatriation of car & caravan together, ie if car is accident damaged or broken down & cannot be fixed in reasonable time. What often isn't covered is a scenario where caravan is imobilised thru accident or breakdown but car is undamaged. In that case your insurance will not recover or repatriate caravan alone. Also if your caravan is large, check there is no length limit on the policy.

Saga caravan insurance does the above(over 50s only)but I would have thought other reputable companies would as well, but presumabley not the cheapest.

My MORE THAN European cover cover car & carvan re-patriation in the event of a breakdown but only car in an accdient.

Hence the enquiry for ACCIDENT re-patriation cover for caravan only.

Your caravan insurance can provide this. As I said, Saga do this if you are over 50, otherwise Caravan Guard(among others)will provide same level of cover. Who is your caravan insured with now, what is your level of cover, can you not increase it to provide you with European cover?

Sorry didn't read the question properly I have Caravan Guard insurance for the van and that covers you automatically for 90 days in Europe.
