My sister in law is looking to hire a car in the UK to drive to Tignes in France in order to bring back some items from her apartment she has there which she is selling.Does anyone know of a UK car hire company which allows you to take the car out of the country to France as she has looked on the internet and cannot find anyone who does ?thanks in advance

More often than not you will find its the smaller hire firms rather than the nationals that will do euro hire, you will pay extra, possibly cheaper to get them transported up on a van or truck.

Just about all of them do.... but you have to pay extra.   I've often used Hertz to get to our Paris office when I'hacked off with Air France planes "Going Tech"

I only know what I've read about this but it seems Peugeot have started a scheme whereby you can hire vehicles (2 or 4 wheels) for hours or days at quite low prices.

They've recently opened London and Bristol offices. Can't see any reference to taking cars abroad but you wouldn't have thought France would be a problem for Peugeot!

Couple of questions seeking up-to-date info on car hire. We'll be wanting to hire a car for less trhan a week travelling (slowly) from Toulouse to Perpignan.

1 Any suggestions as to the best company to use? We'll presumably want a anational/international company if we're starting/ending at deifferent places? 

2 Is there still a scam of hirers charging you for extra/separate insurance? How do folks get around it?
