Despite the fact that it's still a few weeks until The Boy Wonder and I go off to France, I'm already thinking about next year's trip!

I rather fancy taking our Dandy to the Netherlands but need some suggestions for sites.  I've had a look through the list but figured that you good folks are the best for reccomendations and narrowing the search.

I want to take the ferry to Ostende but don't want to drive more than 4-5 hours at the other side. We usually go for quite little basic sites but I'd actually like to try one that's got loads to keep the little one amused (ideally with a kids club) and some entertainment.

Anyone got any suggestions please?

Duinrell?

You can't get much more to keep the kids entertained than a theme park on site!

Our kids absolutely loved it and we're not normally your Butlins / Haven sort of people.

Try this site

It is near Zeist in the Utrecht national park. Loads to do on site , and in a forest which has a fantastic lake with the whitest sand ever.

Here is another site which is totally child friendly, everything is geared to kids. Though he web site offers no English translations, you can work your way round by clicking everything, and  the people on site speak English as required. The most impressive bit is an enormous sand park, built to be like a US gold rush town, for the kids to play in/on, with picnic tables all around for the adults.

Plenty to see in the area if you want a day out.

We are off to the Netherlands in August, staying at De Noordduinen at Katwijk aan zee which is close to the beach and an hour from the port. Not sue what it's like but can let you know in September.

Most places in Holland will be within 4-5 hours of the port.
