Nearly finished 3 weeks at Sommieres (promise to post a review when I get back) which have been great but already thinking of next year. Has anybody come across any new sites that are worth considering??

dear Val

Sorry for delay in replying but only back yesterday after 3 days on M6.

Seriously though, We are thinking about Sommieres again next year which would be the first time we have returned to the same site. However, if you had any thoughts regarding anything else in that Gard/provence area it would be appreciated. probably also looking also time in the Loire on the way back next year.

many thanks

Arpsy

There's a lovely site nr Saumur, but it may be to far North for you. Le Chantepie sits on the plateau on the banks of the Loire

www.campingchantepie.com.

We stopped here for a few nights last year after a disastrous tour of Southern Brittany

For a total change, this is a fab place to go...just ignre the blingy website, it really is a lovely area, very sports orientated: Cycling, running, wind surfing an surfing on the coast
Le Tedey is on the edge of a HUGE lac in in Aquitaine. the down side of this is that it is quite remote and would be a long trip to go to other regions on the sme trip, unless you went towards the Vendee, which was not a good experience for us.
www.le-tedey.com

From this site we explored Bordeaux, the vinyards of the Medoc, Blaye....St Emillion, Cognac etc.

A very different experience from the South, Provence etc.

This year its the Rhone Alps for us, Chatel.

Favourite site:
Camping Nanzel, Limone, Lake
Garda..perfect for MTB, Kayak, SUP and fell running training.
Favourite areas: Provence, French Alps, Savigny (as a stop over for Southern France: Rhein valley as a stop over for Italy.   78
