I booked our ferry a while ago but as of today we have a new van that's a metre longer. Do you think I need to tell the ferry company? Thing is - I'm sure if I do they'll charge me £40 to change the booking. Will it matter? Has anyone else gone with a different size van to their original booking?

Do they charge £40 to change a booking? That's disgraceful!
A tenner maybe. Trouble is, a metre is a lot more. I must admit I'd be tempted to bluff it out.

Well I have never had mine measured. I really cannot see it  is a problem and perhaps someone will turn up with a shorter one.

You dont list the model of the van when booking .

Unless its a monster van that attracts attention i wouldnt bother.

You can always say you forgot about the A frame

Are you keeping the old number plate? I Any ferry I've used I had to give the reg when booking. What happens if you turn up with a different registration?

They just change the registration number for the car.  Checking in takes longer, because they have to reprint the boarding card with the new number, but there's no problem.  We did it in May this year when we forgot to change our registration number.  This was with Norfolk Lines, but I'm sure we've done it in the past with other companies.
