We're heading to France on Saturday for two weeks of camping, we're staying north of Bordeaux at Twinlakes. I've planned a few stops along the way at E.Leclerc supermarkets so we can fill up on the less expensive fuel.
Two questions:
Are E.Leclercs open on Sundays?
Will their 24 hour unmanned petrol pumps take my Visa credit card or even better my Visa debit card?
Thanks in advance.

they normally only open Sunday mornings and I haven't yet been able to use an english card at the pump, but they do take them at the checkout. But i haven't been this year yet and things may have moved on.
I have used UK visa and M/C cards in Leclerc for the last couple of years with no problems. Been OK at Intermarché, SuperU and Casino too. The petrol caisse will definitely not be open Sunday afternoon.
The last couple of years our English debit cards have been accepted at 24 hour pumps. If your card, and the fuel station are reasonably new then you'll have no problems.

We used a Mastercard at Le Clerc last Sunday, after we had given up trying to use the same card at Carrefour a few minutes earlier. I think some machines may be a bit tempremental, but overall, they seem able to take UK cards these days.
Open Sunday morning only, and then its only the larger stores.
We have stayed at a fantastic site nr Longarisse just outside Lacanau and travelled to a centre Commerciale just east of Bordeaux and have never had a problem. the only other option is to go to a services on a main route, they're alway open.
Thankfully the French still honour the Sabbath and Sunday is a day of rest.....before Mondays though NOW FRANCE IS SHUT ON MONDAY.
Enjoy yor trip
