But wherever you are there is the threat of being robbed. Campsite owners are not going to go round telling every camper that there might be the chance of being robbed. It would scare everyone off. They are running a business. Even in a hotel room there is the chance of being robbed but Cosmos don't tell everyone that. It is a risk but so is crossing the road.

However I appreciate that it must have been pretty awful for you and I do sympathise with you. I'm not sure if I would want to go camping again if it happened to me but then perhaps I would who knows until it happens to them.

I lived in London for 10 years and never saw any trouble. Moved to Kent and within a year had been burgled. It can happen anywhere.

dawsoctor
I've read Hilary10's post and if you read mine I'm not disputing that a specific crime has happened - except the gassing of course.

I am just stating that the posts are always very dramatic etc.

One observation I can make is that whether in France or the UK crimes involving the person are generally on the decrease, while one crime that is on the increase is insurance fraud with the ABI reporting that detected fraud cases were up 14% on the previous year.
