Beaune is definately pronounced bone (Bown), with the emphasis on the O.
I've just got back from there and it is the 4th time we have pitched there......Savigny Le Beaune to be more precise.
As someone suggested dailects can change the sound of the way the word is pronounced, but locally this is called 'bone' as in traffic 'cone'.
Wonderful part of the world it is too.
Rheim is a corker to pronounce though, its pronounced Rem by the locals, with a rolling R.
When 'Jayne' (TOM TOM )is in FRance she really gets confused, so hilarous listening to the the pronunciations!
