I stayed away from the big touristy towns & even managed to get a beer (Un Demi, lager of course) for under 1€50! Which would've made a large one less than 3€.
I didn't have a fridge, so drank red wine, cooled in a wet sock, which I also tried with a couple of cheap cans of lager from Lidl, which wasn't too bad.
Pretty much all of this drinking was alone though, when you're a single or "lone" camper other campers tend to look at you funny, social evening drinks were off the menu, except when I met that bloke from Bognor, & boy did I regret that evening!
