Which campsite is your all time favourite and why?

La Brisilia but maybe that was because we were taking teenage kids with us.  We now have the chance to find what it is like to camp in france without them so maybe our favourite will change!

It's large, well equiped and on the beach, but peaceful encampments and very clean with lots of flowers all over.  (Not forgetting the cave for cheap wine too!)

Domaine de la Foret, Vendee and Chateau de l'Eperviere as mentioned above. Both very similar sites based round a small chateau with the same small family site laid back atmosphere/entertainment. Must just mention that the pizzas at Chateau de l'Eperviere are the best we have ever tasted and their own wine was so good we bought back a crate!

If you could put a site like these in an area with more dependable weather then you really would have reached perfection.

Yes savanne, I'm still undecided, but thats normal for me  my favourites for next year at the moment are soleil plage (but may be too busy - we have to go in Aug hols) or L'ardechois (looks pricey!) Not stayed at either, but have been for a nose at Soleil plage, and very nice it looks too!

Tentz your site sounds good, just not the no clothes bit!  Some things are best left to the imagination, for me any how!  Spose at least you don't have loads of washing to do though! lol

Camping Les Dunes at Torreilles Plage is my all time fave!

Not too prim and proper ie a bit wild and overgrown - next to beach and has everything I need for a great holiday!

La Cabane in the Dordogne, no bar, no entertainment and not many 'Brits abroad'.

TBH not really stayed on a site that I wouldn't return to.

We've had different favourites - when our sons came along I'd have found it hard to choose between Val de Cantobre near Nant, and L'Ardechois near Vallon.  Both were favourites for the range of activities offered, the lovely pitches, the rivers (more accessible in those days at Cantobre) and the settings of both sites, which suited us down to the ground.

These days we want different things, so our favourites would be very different.  Amongst them are Neptune at Agde, for the sunset through the palm trees, and the walks into Agde and along to the Grau, and Les Peupliers at Riviere, for the canoeing, the views and the wildlife.  Both of these I've recommended on here, and last time we went to Neptune there were few free pitches.   However, we did find a great site  this year, which may become a favourite as it was just ideal for us - but I'm not telling the details so that we are always sure of finding a pitch there!
