Hi Wardleyweb, not been as far south as Argeles, but a couple of years ago we went to Vias, just up the coast towards Cap d'Agde.

The area's great for kids, safe bathing in the Med, nice beaches, great family atmosphere on the sites, although that far south they do tend to be more geared towards the French, (and rightly so!). The shows in the bars etc. all in French, as were the guide's commentaries when out on day trips etc.

Still, well worth going, and Spain & Barcelona are only a couple of hours drive away too!

Hi wardleyweb.........went to Argeles this year....Camp site Le Soleil...absolutely fantastic...couldn't fault the site. Argeles is very nice as well. Overall I would recommend Argeles. As for the fridge hire...on the site we stayed at they did hire fridges on a weekly basis....came round on a small buggy with it on a trailer and put on your pitch...
