Anyone been camping this way?

Theres a site in the carefree brochure (C & CC) called camping Bled, it looks lovely! Have looked on Zoover there is a good review, and fab pictures, just wonder if there are supermarkets etc as we have only camped in France before!

Savanne its just an idea (I fancy an adventure! lol) Its about 750 miles from zebbrugge, site is called camping bled, it looks a stunning place!

Yes we would be driving, and tent camping, looking at the map, I think we would go through Italy? Have suggested idea to OH, will see how keen he is   Probably a mad idea?

I've stayed at a site just a bit further down the road from Bled - it's a couple of mile from Lake Bohinj Bistrica excuse spelling it's been a while since I went there!  It was a gorgeous place

Just been looking and for some reason, I thought Zebbrugge was a short cheap crossing, turns out it takes 10 hrs at least! Don't think that will be cheap! Doh!

Zeebrugge is only an hour away from Dunkerque, which is one of the cheapest crossings around at the moment.  But, you don't have to go 'up' to Zeebrugge - you can join the Belgian (free) autoroutes, and go across Belgium, Lille, to Mons, or wherever, and be in the same place you would be at Zeebrugge, only eight hours earlier! (saved on the times of the crossings)!

Yes lake bohinj is the more beautiful of the two lakes,when i first visited in the early 80s use to be extremely quite and easy to pitch on the lake edge.Not so tranqual now but still nice.

Camping  Lake bled use to rent out little fridges for campers,a true godscend in my old cycle touring days.

Long time since we visited (on package holiday) so can't comment on cvampsites. However, the lakes and mountains were beautifully clean and not as crowded as their equivalents in other countries.

Shan't be going there again until we can have 5-6 week holidays although we have been considering getting the train and then hiring a car (in Ljubljana?) - has anyone done this?
