the reviews regarding the "pool police" at La Brasilia in the end put me off. I read people were told off for drinking even water by the pool, no ice creams etc. I'm not says rules arent important to maintain standards but we go on holiday to relax not to be told off.

Dont know about Aloha, never been.

Am not too bothered about strict rules but I am concerned about how over commercialised this site may become. Aloha is half the size. Has anyone been to serignan plage. How much of an impact does the nudist beach have.

Hi warbis66

We are going to Aloha next year ,already booked. We have been to serignan plage about 8 years ago and the nudists seem to keep themselves to there part of the beach so they do not bother any one else. It might have changed since then but i am sure some body else on here might have more upto data info.

Main problem I found in high season is textiles 'coming for a look'

We stayed at Brasillia this year (tourer). Had a great time. Biggest pitches I've seen on the coast. Excellent staff, kids more than catered for. I'm not mad keen on any site entertainment, but have to say any we saw as we wandered by seemed ok. Infact there was a beatles tribute band on one night who were excellent.

"Pool police were no problem, if they wanted to be, then the Speedo reg would have been enforced. Anyway there's a lovely beach on the doorstep. Needless to say we have booked for next year. The first time we have booked consecutive years anywhere.

We also stayed at Serignan Plage two years ago. Very good site especially the health spa. But teenagers were a pain after everything had closed down at night. I'm not very comfortable with that last comment, but I'm just telling it as it is.

I had a wander through to Aloha and it seemed a very nice site.

I would be happy to use any of these sites, but if I had to pick one it would be Brasillia. Hope this helps.

The first two weeks in August are likely to be heaving anywhere near to a beach in France or Spain.  Go the second two weeks in August though, and things will be entirely different, certainly on some sites.  We've been on sites which became noticeably less busy over the weekend when all the French go home (around 14/15/16 August)  and by the following weekend were half-empty.  Thereafter it's a couple of weeks or more before the 'older couples' arrive so there's often a lull in how busy a site is at the end of August.  This is one of the reasons why Camping Cheques are accepted on some French sites after that 'French Return' weekend.

No, we've not been there - or rather not to stay.  We've been 'through' it when we had a weekend in Perpignan some years ago - on our way to St Cyprien Plage where we had lunch.  It's a typical modern 'Languedoc' seaside resort - with lots of campsites, apartment blocks, and so on - modern shopping parades, no real 'oldy worldy' centre - reasonable beach - but the area does suffer from the Tramontane - strong winds along that stretch of the coast - so the sand can be biting at times.  That's the same, though, all along the coast of the Languedoc if you hit a windy spell.

Along the lake which runs behind it, are some old Fishermens' Cabins - which are interesting and it's a good area for bird-watching.

We're not really 'beach' people - though for some years ago we did go to Le Boucanet near Grau du Roi.  However, over the years more and more of the beachside pitches were taken up with mobile homes or 'cabins' which we thought spoiled it a bit - we really loved a beachside pitch, and sitting on the rocks watching the sun go down.

I think its' difficult to pick sites which suit parents and children.  I know when ours were young we always picked Eurocamp or Canvas Holidays sites, as they were guaranteed to have lots of other teenagers.

Hi warbis66

We have booked a ready erected tent with canvas holidays for next year.We was booked on another site but canvas decided not to use them next year after we booked so they offered us a choice of there others. We chose this site cos we wanted a pool with slides for 3 teenagers.

It does not matter where you go in france in the height of season it will be busy but we have been camping for the last 12 years at the same time of year and never had problems. Just remember a holiday is what you make it ,just go and enjoy it.

Hi

We went to brasillia the last two weeks of august, the site is very nice and clean,  toilets are immaculate and as already stated the pitches are huge !

the pool is very busy as expected so unless your there for 10 am when it opens you have little chance of getting a bed, no food allowed round the pool but you can have drinks as long as there in bottles, no cans allowed.

The beach was the only thing for me that i don't like, the sand is lovely but getting into the sea is a nightmare as its pebbles/shingle very sore on the feet, i ended up going in with my crocs on eventually but the shingle got through the holes..lol.

Shar.
