We are looking for a Spanish site preferably within an hour or so of Barcelona (Not El Delfin which we love but we want to try something new next year). Ideally it needs to have beach access and be of a decent quality.
Any ideas greatfully received. Thanks.

My preference is Aquarius - about 1 1/2 hours to barcelona, however, loads to do in this region. Brilliant site, with direct beach access, however, no pool
Next door is L'amfora, big site with beach access and several pools. Lacks the intimate atmosphere of Aquarius.
In the same area, you will also find Belena Alegra 2, Las Dunas and Nautic Almata all good sites with great reputations - Balena Alegre 2 and Las Dunas are probably better for teenagers as they share a nightclub (personally I see that as a reason to avoid)
One thing that I notice about Aquarius is that the kids tend to mix very well with kids from other countries (due to its small size) on other sites I do not see this
We liked Vilanova park at Sitges just south of Barcelona. It has all you could want exceptdirect beach access but it is only a couple of minutes by car to a huge sandy beach. Sitges is a nice older real Spanish resort.
A local train will take you into Barcelona which is a great city.
Try Vilanova Park, 50km south of Barcelona. There are some reviews on this website. It's got excellent facilities, it's easy to get to Barcelona by public transport, and the local beach, although without the facilities of a resort on the Costas, is large and clean.

We have booked for our second visit to Roca Grossa, the terraces may not suit some but they run free transport up and down all day. Has a lovely pool, short walk onto lovely cove and beach or a 10 minute walk to the expansive Callela beach.

We stayed at L'Amfora in 2009 - really loved it. I think it has the biggest pools of any of the campsites along this stretch of coast. If you go to one of these sites it's a good idea to take a bike as there are of cycle paths along th ecoast and through the nature reserves.
Try looking at Torre De Sol (in the Caravan Club book) very near Portaventura and about 1 hour from Barcalona - where the site does organised day trips .
