Narbonne is right in the South of France not far from Spain. Can't speak for radio but for TV you will generally get programmes with a 60cm dish in France but that might be pushing it a bit as far south as Narbonne. We use a larger 80cm dish because we tend to go to Germany quite a bit.
We have always used an old domestic oval dish 53cmx43cm all over France including Narbonne [La Nautique] - No problems, just make sure you have a clear sight of the satellite i.e no trees, buildings etc.. We also use a compass before pitching on any site.

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
We have a maplin system and have found very usefull but I am afraid that Narbonne is just too far south with such a small dish except for limited reception. In October this year we were able to pick up BBC in the morning but later in day no luck. If you want reception in Narbonne you need 80cm dish. Was able to use small maplin dish as far south as Clermont Ferrand OK
