Hi All

I am looking for a campsite near (ish) to the normandy landings.

Can anybody reccomend a good site, not to big, not bothered about pools, entertainment as there will be only hubby and myself.

We stayed here and took in Bayeux as well as the beaches, Arromanches and Pegasus Bridge and Caen. We cycled everywhere too so they can't have been too far away !

Here you go ARROMANCHES  LINKY There is a good Municipal right in the centre of Arromanches.

Arromanches is well placed for travelling out to the other Beaches and places like Pegasus Bridge at Ouisterham. You should also take in the MERVILL BATTERY at the same time as the Bridge as they are pretty near to each other. There is an excellent museum at Arromanches of the Mulberry harbour - also the 360 cinema (but I haven't been to that yet)

The American beaches Utah and Omaha are probably best done by moving campsite as they are quite a drive from Arromanches. The American Para museum at St Mere Eglise is excellent value for money and is well laid out. They even have the poor **d hanging from the church steeple (which I thought was bit tacky)

Na......... they invade every year. This was 6th June 2007 at Batterie de Longues
