Looking for something for the summer school term half - term - so only going for a week - so thought we might try Belguim.

Can anyone recommend any good sites for teenagers, swimming pool etc, in Belgium.    We usually  do Caravan Club sites, and they only have one in their book which is about 70 miles from Calais - would be happy to travel up to about 200 miles from Calais.

Brugge and Gent are good places to visit, both have campsites within easy reach. Going further would allow you to get to the Ardennes which has some lovely countryside and some nice towns and villages.

We too would recommend the Ardennes although cannot tell you about camping since we overnighted in a hotel! There were several campsites around which looked spacious, not overcrowded. Rochefort (not to be confused with several towns of the same name in France) is the chief town - quiet with some good restaurants and shops. Nearby Han-sur-Lesse has lots of things - caves, train/bus around a wildlife area, a big 'fun house', 'farm'.  We commented at the time that it would be good for youngsters.  Easy drive as long as you avoid Brussels!
