Hi All

Has any one stayed at this site this year, there is one review on the campsite for 2010, but it is always handy to read more. Hoping to go in August 2011, with a 5 and 7 year old. Is there enough to keep them occupied during the day?

We prefer a quieter site, but realise the kids need entertaining.

Stayed at Camping Du Deffay this year - had a fab time, but always like to go somewhere new.....any comments would be helpful!

Which Etang ?   It must be one of the most common names in France.

Unless it's changed very much in the last 3-4 years I'd say it would be perfect for you. There's a small leisure park across the road, lots of space for games on the site itself, an organised kids club for an hour or so in the mornings if that's what you want, table tennis, a small playground, various optional sporting activities and competitions, bikes for hire and of course the pools, one with a gently sloping shallow end.  We prefer quieter and smaller sites but revisited this one even after the kids no longer came on holiday with us.  We did, however, ask for a pitch on the original section of the site as it seemed a bit quieter than the new part. There's also lots to do in the area - the 2 level zoo at Doué la Fontaine is a great day out, plenty to see but not too big, and not too expensive with a family, as I recall.

Take a cheap fishing rod, the kids can catch fish all day long with luncheon meat as bait.

The fishing is free.

Great site for kids, very quiet at night.
