Has anyone used any of the campsites around Chamonix? Am going there in September to do Mt Blanc and need to find a good basecamp place.

Hi

We used Les Domes de Miage in August last year and loved it. Great facilities block, very friendly, helpful owners, good mix of nationalities, great location. We would certainly use it again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

We liked nothing better than to sit out in the early morning/evening and watch the paragliders and hot air balloons!

fantastic. That looks good to me! Looks nice and secure too which is handy seeing as the amount of gear we will be taking!

Domes de Miage is a Camping Cheques site, until the 11th September, when it closes, saving about 4 euros per night over the normal site tariff at that time of year.
