We were wondering is it value for money to take my tin tent to the costa del sol over xmas for 3 weeks, OR are we better asking on here if anybody has got a property to rent and fly over, also how long does it take to travel there with car and caravan ,how many miles would we have to cover,

Just done a quick calc using Autoroute Express for you. From Stoke -on -Trent to Malaga assuming max motorway speed of 60 mph, 40 mph on A roads and 30 on minor roads with a driving day from 9 am to 5pm with only a quarter hour stop per day. Distance 1551 miles, journey time 3 days 4 hrs 41 minutes.

Good luck!

That means 4 days there and 4 days back 1551 div by 30 mpg =51 galls each way x2 =102  x  say 3.50 per gall = £360 + ferry + camp sites along the way .I think I will be finding a flight from Manchester approx £250 each  thanks again, from  Top Dog Errol

A friend of mine does this every year for five weeks. He leaves earlyish has short breakes every two or three hours, stays overnight at a French service area (the same one), and gets to his campsite at 17:00 on the second day.

     Regards,        Clive.
