I know this has been covered loads of times but I am a bit confused.  A lot of people on here appear to take there own treatments for the vets in France to administer but the DEFRA website says that all treatments have to be supplied and administered by French vets or the passport will not be valid for the return entry to the UK.  Can someone please clarify this for me. We are taking our 2 boxers to France and Spain for the first time this August and need to have everything clear beforehand.

We have never taken any treatments & not had a problem.

To be honest I am surprised French vets use treatments supplied by customers. So much is faked these days how do they really know what they are putting in/on the animal?

unless your dog is allergic to frontline I cant see any reason to take your own, they will still charge the same albeit hidden

What is the standard price in france ? we have been charged anything between €35 and €60

There is no standard price for having your pets treated over here, but as has been written so many times on here, the closer you get to the ports then the gradually higher becomes the fee !!

Almost all of our four legged friend owning visitors each year use our local vet in Montignac as he is truly excellent and it still gives them loads of time to be able to get to the ports within the 24/48 hour time constraint.
