If you are going after June 15th then best outside the town and suggest Municipal at Soullans. Best showers anywhere superb large pitches with better grass than my front lawn. Price 11 euros with leccy, and hedges all round pitch as well.

We stayed there in 2003 so could be a little different now. We were out on a pitch by the swimming pool which was very small and awkward to manoeuvre in and out of and we only have a small caravan. There were more accessible pitches although none were very big. Our overall impression was that the site was quite cramped but I believe that is a problem for quite a lot of the coastal sites in the Vendee.

The campsite shop was on the sister site over a busy road and was about a 10 minute walk.

It's not a site we would return to and I note the C&CC have dropped it from their brochure.

Hi, take a look at Camping Le Ragis, Challans. not too far away from St Jeans, though a lot quieter traffic wise! Never stayed on the municipal at Soullans, but Soullans is a lovely little village about 5 mins away from Le Ragis (we have english friends who live there!) and one of the best bread shops around! Its not set up for tourism and is pretty much a well kept small village with a camp site so i assume the site will be well kept and clean aswell.

Le Ragis is a VERY french site though, if you want a bar/club/english disco etc then its not for you, if you want home grown entertainment, nice pool complex, small fishing pond and a site that is set up for family hoildays then you could do a lot worse!

there are reviews on the review pages for Le Ragis or if you want to ask anything just drop me an email?

dave
