Hi all - Have anyone got any recommended campsites (tents) in the Vendee region of France. 2 adults going in early July, with no children.

Thanks

Thanks Val

We are going from the 3rd to the 10th so might be able to use the card. Have you done this part of France? Am thinking of going on the euro star and then driving down through - any thoughts?

Vacancsoleil cheques...they are £9, compared with Camping Cheques £13.95. They have a lot of sites in the Vendee and the Atlantic Coast.
Even the saintly Le Pin Parasol (beloved by many on this site) is covered by these cheques

No, we haven't done the Vendee, sorry, but there are plenty of people on here who have.  We're not beach people, and the Vendee area is mostly about the beaches.  You can use ACSI or Camping Cheques even if some of your dates are outside the acceptance period - you simply pay the normal site rate for those days.

Do you mean Eurotunnel - taking your own car?  If so, then I think someone has mentioned using Tesco Vouchers, converted to deals, which can be used towards the costs.  It will probably cost you something around £120 - (much more with a caravan) where the short crossings with a ferry company can be as little as £46.  The tunnel is quick and you obviously can't beat that - the ferries take at least twice as long.

Last year we stayed at the Camping Domaine des Forges in the southern Vendee. We thought it ideal for couples, particularly in school term time.

It was a really nice site with huge pitches, excellent facilities and a very friendly staff.

We would highly recommend it.
