Try camping Aan Noordzee in Holland: sea, dunes, private toilet (all pitches) restaurants, quite spots. You name it: it's there. Also try camping de kleine wolf (the little wolf) in the east of holland: swimming pool, relaxed atmosphere, shop, forest, restaurant. All pitches have EHU, water, cable for tv. We live in the neighbourhood, so we know what we are talking about. If you need more information about this area: contact us, maybe we can help you all. Oh, and try  www.anwb.nl and www.acsi.nl

Plenty of pools in Germany have Pools. Excellent campsites and weather in August usually very warm. We go April to July and the weather is usually lovely with the exception of last year when the weather was not good all over Europe inc. the UK. We get temperatures of 30 to 35 deg. centigrade in Southern Austria in May and have had 35 degrees C on the Rhine and last June in Holland. Germany is an under rated country, we think it wonderful as is Austria, Holland and Italy. We have been visiting Germany and Austria for nearly 40 years so if you need any info just ask.

Someone I work with has camped in Germany and rates it very highly. Would love to go back but due to her Husbands ill health has had to give up camping.

I have camped in Germany in August and the weather has been brilliant, even if the site hasn't got a swimming pool then most towns have an outdoors pool.
The Mosel and Rhein valleys are worth looking at, in fact I am going back to Rudesheim this year I liked it so much 2 years ago and then we are off to Bavaria through the Blackforest, staying in Garmisch Partenkirchen and Munich. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang castle is near Garmisch its called Neuschwanstein.

If you use Archiescamping website you can download an app which you can open up in Google earth and see 28000ish campsites in Europe. They also have the sites which accept ACSI etc.

Regards

Bob

Yeah I am also going to confuse things - what about Austria, we've never been but there are some lovely campsites there some on lakes. But we also want to go to Italy too, but just can't take the 3 weeks that's needed to do it at the moment!
