Hi

We have narrowed down where we want to stay for a couple of nights on our way to Austria to this area. Has anyone any campsites they would recommend?

I have looked at the website for Azur Camping Turmbergblick in Karlsruhe and thought this looked good as it was just off the motorway, had a pool complex next door and looks like you could get into the centre easily by train. Has anyone stayed there?

Thanks

Hopscotch

Hi we stopped off in Stuggart on way to Lake Garda we stayed at this site near centre               http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=10513

Ideal campsite for a stopover or cpl of nights we used it so we could visit the Mercedes Museum which i highly recommend even if not that into cars. We didnt go in to city but there was a train/tram line about 400yards from site.
We didnt book just turned up and this was middle of july. There are a few caravans that are used by people working in the area but dont let that put you off as they were very pleasant and when i went to bar at night for a pint was made to feel welcome.

We have also stayed here, run by friendly people. Not too far off the autobahn.

We also stayed at Camping Waldpark Hohenstadt on our way to Austria. We all really liked the site and it had a lovely little restaurant which made delicious pizzas . They also had lovely ice cold lager on draft which was very welcome after travelling all day in very hot temperatures!

Thanks.

I had looked at Camping Waldpark Hohenstadt and thought it sounded good but wondered if it was a little bit too far to get to from Amsterdam in one day. Where did you drive from and how long did it take you to get there?

We also travelled from Amsterdam, but stopped for our first night at Oberwesel on the Rhine. It took us until 5pm to get there, although we did come off the motorway to travel the scenic route alongside the Rhine. We left at 9 the next morning arriving at Hohenstadt at 3pm so I think it would probably be too much in one go.
