I know its been done before but I'm going to do it again.
We are going to PDF this year come hell or high water. I was going to go last year until we won free tickets to Futuroscope which changed our plans.
Can any-one recommend a campsite near enough to get there and back in under 2 hours. My two wake early and we wont be staying for the Cinescenie this year.
I would like a site with its own pool preferably and without oodles of loud entertainment.
I have looked at Camping de la Breteche but am concerned that it allows cars into the site until 1:30 am - is this not a bit noisy. It also appears to have lots of late night entertainment - is this the case.
Camping le Futuriste looks OK - has any-one been there?
Does any-one have anywhere better?

We stayed at Camping de Courte Vallee when we went to Puy Du Fou. It wasn't too bad a drive to get there, and the site (review on my profile) was very nice for our kids who were about 7,6 and 4 at the time. Nice little pool that is now heated, decent play area and friendly Brit owners who keep the place spotless. No late night noise at all, just a little bar and they do a BBQ a few times a week, but very low key.
You must visit the zoo at Doue if you are in the area, it's fantastic!
not been but how about Puy Rond Camping? We met the owners (very nice couple) at the NEC a couple of years ago. Small family run site with a pool.
If you are considering Loire sites I can highly recommend Chantepie near Saumur. No noise at night, pool for the kids, big pitches, great staff and some pitches have fab Loire river views.

Try La baudinnaire near Chantonnay.
lovely clean, small site with pool.
Room for children to play, feed the chickens and pigs and very relaxing.
Pay de fou only 20 minutes away.
An ideal campsite is called Camping au Bois du Ce. It is a small campsite, only a few minutes by car from Puy du Fou, and you can walk there using a small road, which is not often used by vehicles. We have stayed there several times, it is run by a French family, who are very friendly, and there is an indoor swimming pool, which is good should the weather not be too fine.
Although I see that their website mentions evening entertainment when we stayed for several nights, at the end of August 2007, it was VERY QUIET and PEACEFUL at night. It was certainly not the all-singing-dancing type of site. The pool is, I think, the town pool. It is on the same site as the campsite and campers get free access. Again it was not a source of undue noise when we stayed.
I don't know about the gate being open to 1.30am, only that on Ciniscene nights at Puy du Fou they left the gate open for those who had been to that show. It was only a few folk, we certainly didn't see anyone arriving back on the same evening as us!!!
All-in-all I think that Camping de La Breteche would be ideal for your visit to Puy du Fou.
Please post again if I can answer any further queries.
We're staying at the Castels site Domaine des Forges. They have another pool new for this spring (covered) and the pitches are huge, site quiet at night etc. Location looks great, just 10km from beaches etc. Really looking forward to it.

Hi Les, and Caro, just a reminder, when posting details of a camp site, please ensure you link to their UKCampsite.co.uk listing, not direct to their website, to enable reviews etc to be read or left
Thanks
Ian
