Yes we're on the early morning ferry as well, we're aiming to get there in the early hours so that we can try and get a few hours sleep at the dock.  We are staying near Beg Meil so only a couple of hours or so to drive. I hate driving through Plymouth from the A38, if you're timing isn't right there's so many lights and roundabouts....constant stop start...I'm looking for an easier route to avoid the town centre.  Glad to see you've found a new van, enjoy your first holiday when you get it :)

PS, we have booked the early ferry back as well..it worked out £120 cheaper than the afternoon one when we booked with the C&CC, another night at Roscoff dock though.

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!

Oh Savanne1 you've given the game away! Having done France for many years, I can only say last year at La Baie was the absolute best holiday ever. Sure the pitches could be a bit bigger, the gap between pitches could be wider, the pool could be longer, the slides higher. All totally irrelevant, when you consider the warm welcome, the kids club, the beeches, the short walk to the village, the bike routes around and about (great fun cycling to Carnac for lunch for menu de Jour avec un cariffe de vin rouge, s'il vous plait (I'm sure that's not all correct)). But mainly the atmosphere around the place. Yeap, we're going back, 17 nights this year - none of us can wait! Dan

hi danthevanman, weather depending we hope to spend our whole holiday in Brittany and move down to the Carnac area after a week at Benodet. If we dont like the look of Kervilor we may well go to La Baie for the 2nd week as we loved the area but wouldnt go to La Plage with a caravan (OH nervous about pitch access) as I remember the access roads were tight. We had a nosy round La Baie and thought pitches and access there were better than La Plage.

Mrs A, we're coming home Caen/Portsmouth as will either spend the 2nd week in the Vendee or around Carnac in southern Brittany. We're getting the cheaper 08.45 ferry home staying on a site in the CC brochure only a few miles from the port the night before.
