I'm looking for somewhere a bit quieter for this sumer and wondered if anyone has any experiences of camping in Luxemburg. I'll be taking my tent so any info greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Try areas like Diekirch, Vianden, Luxemburg City (Camping Kockelscheuer). It's a great location being so close to excellent German and Belgium locations as well as great places in Luxemburg.

The Luxembourg Ville camp is great - on the edge of the city but on a regular busroute to the station and city centre. There are a couple of quite extensive (given the total size of the country) national parks - worth looking up. The country is probably the cheapest in NW EU.
I am quite interested in replies to this thread as Luxemburg is a place me and my partner are considering visiting by camp as we have friends over there that we would be visiting. Any recommendations of sites or must see places would be greatly appreciated.

We were there in 2004. It is a nice country with rolling hills in the area we were. We stayed at Camping Auf Kengert, as I was there a few years ago I won't post a review in case it is out of date. It was nice with good facilities for families including a restaurant, take-away, good shop, playground, swimming pool and a maze. The only downside (and we've experienced this all over Europe in Summer) was that the pitches were very tight & made of hard baked mud. There was very little room around the tent between us & the neighbours. When it rained - and boy can it rain - we were very nearly flooded out. Certainly worth a stay though.
It does not take long to see Luxemburg it is a very small country. If you are going for longer than a week try a week in nearby Eifel Area of Germany it is much prettier and the Mosel River is nearby to explore. See Prumtal Camping in German Campsite listings of this Forum.
We spent just one night here last year and it really is a beautiful bijou country - which we will definitely re-visit. We stayed at a fantastic campsite in Larochette called Camping Birkelt (I've left a review on the place) - great location as the small town is closeby with restaurants and a smattering of shops. The site has everything and more but probably more suited to families although they locate you on the site based on your circumstances i.e. families with teenagers are close to the main action and families with young children and probably couples after quietness are further out. The showerblocks here are the best I've ever seen - I was also surprised by how many brits were on site.

We did a stop-off there too. The restaurant is very good and you get proper Yorkshire sized portions.
My only slight criticism is that (like all wooded sites) it was a bit damp.
