We are going to France for two weeks in August. We have decided to bases our search for a campisite to Loire Valley and Vendee as we are travelling with a 3 yr old girl and a 4 yr old boy so dont want a massive car journey (going to Calais)

We have kid of shortlisted the following:
Huttopia Rille
Le Chant D'Ouiseu
La Ferme de Prunay
Camping Chantepie

I keep look at others and then getting very confused as its a toss up between loads of activities and peace and quiet. Im kind of leaning towards Le Chant based on all the reviews but Im worried that our tow kids might not have enough to do in the immediate area.

We dont want a massive site with lots of people and lots of teenagers and noise which will terrify our kids, but equally we want them to be happy and for us to relax. And most of all we want a secure site that does not feel like England!.   We would like to visit places (not so much historic - but change of scenery) as 2 weeks in one place is not what we want so we dont want to be miles from anywhere.

Can anyone help with the above choice or advise on any other sites they think are great for little ones?

Thanks!!!

We have been to Camping Chantepie, it was a few years ago but my girls loved it.

Read the reviews, they have/had ponies there which you can take the kids on for a ride around the site also a little area with goats and chickens.

The pool is quite nice, not too big but big enough.

There is also a great zoo not to far away but i can't remember the name of but it was a fantastic day out.

Personally for little ones its a great site but i can't comment on the others as not been. I'm sure which one you choose you will have a great holiday.

We looked in on Chant d'oiseau on Monday just because we are nosey like that.

The owners would seem to right up your street. It is completely safe for the toddlers to roam, there is a stupid old dog, a white cat and chickens wandering around. Very friendly and above all peaceful

Haven't had experience of the other sites but this one would seem to suit your needs

Le Chant might be booked up in August as it is a small site.    Can you look up availability online?

I spent quite a bit of time perusing the Loire sites and nearly plumped for Chantepie. A couple of others you might want to look at. They should also fit your needs.

Le Chant is lovely but the pool is an above ground one so maybe you would be better with a site that has a paddling pool and playground for  your little ones.   We are going here later in the year but maybe it is too far for you to travel.

Marz, the above ground pool fits in perfectly with our idea of safety for the kids. We remove the steps so little ones can't just wander in and tumble in. It works well, and has done for the past 5 years.
We also have a playground for toddlers with swings, slide and a treehouse.

Depends on what you think a 3 year old and a 4 year old need to amuse themselves. If they want to play in the tree house, play bat and ball with other children, chase the chickens, run round the trees etc then Le Chant is excellent. If they need theme parks, zip wires, flumes, discos etc then Le Chant isn't for you.
