We are off to France for the 1st time with our Montana 6.
1 week at Domaine des Ormes(Dol de Bretagne) followed by 1 week at Le Ranolien(Ploumanach)both have EHU.Will my EHU work or will i need a continental adaptor?
Have read all the stuff on reversed polarity and given the size of the sites am hoping everything will be ok.
Is this wise? or should i take a back up?
Kids very excited at the prospect of camping in France, i don't want to ruin it by getting all EHU stressed!
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Some sites have the blue plug we are used to and some have the continental 2 pin sockets. You can even get a mix of both at the same site so I would get the adaptor just in case. They are not dear and take up no space.

Always take an adaptor. We`are touring at the moment, and sites that state they want CEE plugs (the blue ones) still end up with the French socket on the connection

As everybody else says take a continental adapter. Very often we dont know what we will get until we get to a site so its always wise to have both.
Forget the reverse polarity as it has never caused a problem with anything we have in our tent and that includes heater, fridge, electric light, kettle, mobile chargers, DVD, battery chargers for cameras etc. etc. The only reason you will know if you have reverse polarity is that the red light will be on your circuit breaker.
One more tip is if you can put a plastic bag over your connection into the site box if it looks as though you may get some heavy rain to stop any inadvertant trips. Val de Authie on the Somme actually came round with black plastic bags when there was heavy rain forecast. Hope you dont get any rain but isn't it the scouts motto "be prepared"
Enjoy the holiday and dont worry about the electrics!
We're off to Des Ormes from next Wednesday and will take both our connectors with us, but then we are going down to a friends farm for a week so know we will need the French connector there.
But if you fancy a change from France and wish to go a bit further on another trip - we have stayed at a couple of sites in Italy and Croatia and there has been only one giant electric point for everyone to plug their cables, taking about 16 hook ups, so sometimes its handy to carry an extra extension lead to reach the hook up, if we hadn't, our usual lead we use would not have reached.
Have a great time!
