As I said earlier, I think my OH looks great in his speedos.  He thinks I look good in my 'lycra'.  Who cares what anyone else thinks?  Life's too short to worry about what judgemental people think about my OH's swimwear!

I can see where the site owners are coming from, some people wear their swimming shorts all day then think they can jump straight in the pool. the filth just clogs up the filters and means they hnave to add even more chemicals to keep the water clean.

Personally I will be forcing my 'over-developed baps' into a miniscule bikini and have a go at a multitudinous types of watersport and continue to bathe in the gasps from the watching crowds ha, ha, ha.

I think it's a bit unfair to say don't go, just because someone feels a little uncomfortable wearing something that is skin tight over the usually well hidden genitials!!

We're just having a bit of fun laughing about something that some of us find a tad cringy. It is worth noting that as Brits we tend to be less relaxed in that dept than maybe our european counterparts and struggle stripping down our pasty bodies our miniscule undies. I for one enjoy our worldwide holidays and try to soak up as much of the local atmosphere as possible, but there are some things that I'm not always going to love. It doesn't mean I'm not entitled to have a laugh about it or not go!

But isn't that why people are uncomfortable - they read on forums like this, or are told by their loved ones, that people are looking at them, and drawing conclusions, even laughing at how they look, and that makes them more embarrassed about wearing even lycra shorts!

Europeans have no problem wearing 'speedos' - not because they are any better shaped, or tanned, but because it's commonplace and no one makes fun of them!

Agree with you Val - I think that is why this annual debate on speedos irritates me because even if someone did prefer wearing them they have to be bloody brave to do so with all the comments that are flying around. A few glasses of  wine in the mid day sun and who cares what anyone wears!
