Can't help with the shorts/ trunks debate cos I hate shorts so no worries when in France. But the site is good. You don't say what accomodation you are in, there is a large mobil home complex, and with a caravan some of the access avenues are a bit narrow and even impossible if you get up the wrong one and need to turn a corner.
That said site is good, plenty for kids, pool complex large, indoor and outdoor. Plenty of toboggans indoor and out.
Lots to do in surrounding area if you want to go off site. Any of the bays on the Golfe are good for evening strolls. Locals go regularly collecting mussels/razor shells etc for the pot. Boat trips on the Golfe are good, and you can hire bikes when you stop off on the islands.
Should be good for a young family.
