I don't know about charging it using the EHU, but we charge our laptop from the car lighter socket. Works brilliantly.

I can't imagine why you'd have problems - your hook-up supply should charge the iPad without any problems. We charge our laptop in the caravan without problems - and we charge phones either in the caravan, or through the cigarette lighter whilst out and about.

We love our iPad and know it is going to make the long journey so much more bearable for our 4 yr old!
