Hi,

We are considering Le Pin Parasol for the last week in Aug and first week in September.

Does anyone know what the weather is usually like in late Aug/early Sept?

Has the site winded down by then or will there still be plently of people around, with all the toilet facilities open, entertainment etc?

Thanks!

Hi Liesldv

We've stayed at Le Pin up to August Bank Holiday - in 2009.  Our observation was that from approx the 20th of August when the French school holidays end, the site empties out quite quickly, leaving just British and Dutch guests.  We have a photo taken during late August  and most of the pitches around us were empty by then.

The on site entertainments came to an end then too.

- The weather was great though!

It did put us off from choosing late August again.  Although it was hot, beautiful and quiet, we didn't like the end of season feeling.  We had waited all Summer for our holiday, only to feel like it was ending from half-way though our stay.

Mrs U-M

Thanks for the response Mrs U-M.  Do you recommend booking or would it be okay to just turn up?

If the site is going to be half-empty then there's no point in booking.  If you're there the first week in September then you can use either the ACSI Card (15 euros) or Vacansoleil Cheques (£9.00).  You could use these even if you pay 'normal' rate for the first week, as long as you tell them on arrival.
