planning a few stops for 2 or 3 days through Europe and hoping to settle for a week or so in Croatia but not sure where to go- ideally near a beach-have 3 children under 12.Any ideas?
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
We've just returned from a week in Istria (not camping) but I was keen to look out for campsites on our travels. It looks like sites are very big and very busy (we were mainly looking at Vrsar, Porec and Rovinjl) - i didn't get the chance to look at facilities etc as it was so hot we could hardly stir ourselves from the sea! Remember that certainly in Istria most of the 'beaches' are very rocky or manmade concrete areas to lie on, and getting into the water can sometimes be tricky. We've been a few times now and hope to return on our grand tour of Europe! It's also very reasonable to eat out but surprisingly some foodstuffs are a similar price to Europe now.
Last summer, we were with a camper in Croatia. We started from Zagreb, through Plitvice National Park. We stayed there for a couple of days at the Plitvice camp We continued our journey south. For the second camp we chose Camp Odmoree This camp is totally different from the rest. Small family camp, directly by the sea. The plan was to sleep in and continue south. We stayed for 7 days. From this camp we visited several places. The island of Pag, the city of Zadar, the old royal town of Nin, the Paklenica National Park. The plan was to continue to Split but we stayed longer than planned and had to head back home.
