We found the weather relatively bad this year. We were in the far southeast of France, near Avignon. It was much colder this year than last and we had two big storms while there.
We're still going to go there next year, though, especially as we arrived back in Blighty and Dunkirk to 16 degrees C and driving rain/fog.

In Normandy the weather is good at the moment( sunny low twenties ) and, sunshine forecast for the next ten days!
What forecast are you looking at? According to Meteo France only for far South East has a forecast that good!
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!

On LaChaine Meteo today it shows rain and showers in Normandy, improving over the next couple of days!
I hadn't seen that Meteo before Val - bookmarked thanks - it looks like a good one with a 12 day forecast - if it turns out accurate, my first week will be nothing to boast about. We are also off on Sunday - at least it will be warmer.
We are heading out on 26th to Lofer in Austria where the weather appears to be pretty mixed but not too bad and then onto Bled in Slovenia where the weather appears to have been pretty good so far.... so here's hoping :-)
I don't think LaChaineMeteo is any more or less accurate than any of them (edited - obviously not if Leomar says it's sunny in Normandy!) but it's what we use. I prefer the very optimistic Midi Libre (local paper) which nearly always shows a lovely crescent of sun around the area we're planning to be in! When it doesn't we know it's REALLY time to move on!
I also like it because it shows pictures day by day, instead of just a forecast, so you can see exactly where in France the sun in shining!
We arrived in le havre Sunday 1pm, cloudy but dry til Orleans when the heavens opened and continued til we arrived at our overnight stop at vatan just south of vierzon. We managed to get on the pitch and level before some of the most torrential rain I have ever seen. This continued overnight. Next morning it rained all the way to Brive when the sun came out. Slept with all van windows open last night and today in the dordogne the weather has been beautiful. Taking advantage of the sites free wifi I've just looked at a couple of weather sites that are saying different things. We're booked here for 10 nights and after that have will see where the weather is decent before deciding where to go ( further north) so either the Loire or maybe royan. Just hope the current weather here holds as it's glorious!!!
