If you are going to ferry to Bilbao or Santader ... why charge off to France?
The north coast of Spain is absolutely fantastic!
The Picos de Europa area is gobsmackingly gorgeous with loads to do and see.
The coast has dozens of private coves and lovely towns and villages and super camping sites.
Bilbao has the extraordinary Guggenheim Museum ... and ... and ... oh, the list is endless.
Petrol is cheaper in Spain and so are bars, restaurants and food generally.
I have reviewed some sites you could look at, with more info on things to do.
Please think about it ... it'll save you lots of extra hours trecking backwards to France ... and ... frankly ... unless you are into windsurfing and other windy beach activities, the flat Atlantic coast of southern France is quite boring.
