Hello, I would dearly love to spend most of our winter in the sun, France or Spain, in our motorhome, any suggestions, I have never driven abroad apart from hiring the odd car whilst on hols, If anyone else has the same idea and would like some company on the way down then please get in touch, it would be less stressful for me to go with company I think.

For winter sun you really do need to get well down into Spain. Southern France in winter is not great. You would get a few decent days but not really enough to call it a winter sun holiday.
on average the moroccan tourist board reckon 26,000 campers hit maroc between nov and april. personally i think it could be more.
spain is ok as said down south.
forget france.
portugal is also a favourite with many . usually the algarve region.
Definately Spain , we head there every winter after New year for 3 months if your a memeber of the C&CC they have some cracking Winter Rally's and there on excellent camp sites

The C&CC club Wintersun brochure is out now, and some of the "long stay" rates on the Spanish rallies are very good. I think they are also doing an escorted trip to Morocco.

Suggest Spain, warmer and cheaper. Villanova first class site near Sitges our billet from December to Jan then down thru Spain to Portugal, Tavira then Lagos. This year we are going Portsmouth Santander as last year Calais to Sitges a bit of a drag. Caravan Club block bookings give a good price on some sites.

Stick to Spain, having been to Morocco this year, sadly there is now a very real anti-European feel in the air. No doubt some will dispute this, so take a look at the Foreign Office's advice and make your mind up from that.
