Have thought about uk camping with kids but apprehensive - now thinking outside the box - has anyone been anywhere with warmish weather - thinking southern france or spain? Thanks !

Have thought about this too but could not find many sites still open. Have opted for a mobil home at La Croix du Veiux Pont nr Soissons. A - because after hrs of looking it was the only site open
B - can do more of Paris without missing sunbathing time!

We had a super time in Saumer a few years back and took in Futurescope. It was all dressed up for Halloween and the kids really enjoyed it. We were blessed with lovely sunny weather though!

Gilly, I hope you get better weather than we did when we went there one October half term. I remember it was very cold.

We've rented Gites before now near Vaison La Romaine and had daytime temps of 22-30 but it cools seriously after 5pm. 

Do the sums for flying down and renting a place you might be surprised that it can work out cheaper - it has for us on 3 occasions now.

Cheers jaymac, taking good books & jumpers, hubby taking rods, daughter won't care, it's wet in the pool!

We usually do our own van in the uk for oct half term but this price was too good to miss!

Lots of wine will keep us warm!
