Hi, I'm thinking about booking next year's ferry and going to shake up my times a bit. We usually get a very early morning ferry back home but i'm thinking of next year changing it to a 6pm ferry and staying overnight this side of the channel to give us a bit of a better start back up to Scotland in the morning.

Normally we go to the vet late afternoon and know that they are usually open from about 6pm till 8 pm. If I change my plans I will be looking for a vet during the day - does anyone know roughly when the vets would be open during the day. It won't be a ferry port vet I'll use not not looking for specific times just - are they usually open during the day or morning? Sorry to be so vague!

I found that most vets were independent, and so set their own working pattern There are those who work morning and afternoon/evening sessions, and close at lunchtime, and others seem to be open right through the day. Presumably, it depends on how many vets work in the practice what service they can offer. We usually used single vet practices, open twice a day.

With a bit of luck you might not need to see a vet next year! We've found mornings are usually for booked appointments and afternoons are sometimes sit and wait your turn with the place closed at lunchtime.
