Hello everyone

We're in the process of planning the summer hols like many on here and have looked at all the different permutations for getting to France. The best routes and times seem to be with Brittany Ferries (once the tolls and time have been added in for Eurotunnel).

Whilst the prices are high there seems to be a relaunched version of their property owners scheme that's open to anyone. My understanding is that for £70 per year plus a one off £60 registration fee you get 30% of all fares (excl Cabins) when you stay over 10 nights. My maths tells me that on our crossing the £130 fee for the first year will still leave us about £100 better off overall and then more in following years without the registration fee.

Before we make any decisions am I missing something? Has anyone else joined this as it seems to autmoatically pay for itself if you're towing and staying over 10 days?

Cheers

Just a thought before you pay anything up front, check out the prices for the Camping Cheques Brittany Ferries offer - where caravans can go free on some sailings, providing you buy three Camping Cheques.  If the dates/times/routes you want are available then you can make a huge saving - and put the Camping Cheques on the market on forums like this if you can't use them youselves.

Yes,joined last year and had an overnight cabin on way out-mpv,trailer ,roof box .saved similar amount to you and this year will only have to pay £60 re reistration fee, therefore making even greater savings.

Worth it if you stay over 10 days and/ or will use more than once a year.

We are staying with Siblu next whit and their prices for brittany ferries prices were £78 cheaper than using the camping cheque offer, but i may have recouped some by selling on camping cheques.

Brittany ferries prices booking through Select Sites very good too. Booking direct ferry crossings I looked at was £678, Select Sites was £334. The site prices were a little higher than booking direct with the site but the ferry savings more than compensate for this.

We are going at whit and the static price is £350 for 10 nights for the top of the range 3 bedroom static and the crossing price is £424 going from portsmouth to st malo overnight and returning caen to portsmouth overnight.  Both crossings with 4 berth outside cabin.

We did the same via calais last year using clubcard tokens for the tunnel and paying for hotels.  I like overnight ferries because you arrive refreshed and have a shorter drive.
