Camping Bel. In La Tranche Sur Mer, is smaller than a lot of sites. Entertainment just right for kids of your ages.
Haven't got their own website, but if you look at Eurocamp and Keycamp brochures you will find it there, to give you an idea of what it is like. You can book this site through Eurocamp Independent, but if your kids won't go to the kids club they organise, it is probably cheaper not to.
If you are members of the Caravan and Camping Club, you can also book thought them.
You can e-mail the site and book directly with them, but they don't usually start to take bookings until after Christmas. Let me know and I can look up the e-mail address for you if you are interested in in.
There are reviews on here if you use the campsite search section.
Camping les dunes at la tranche is gorgeous also camping zagarella across from there is nice too. Ocean d'or at jardiniere is a really pleasant site. You could also try le littoral at talmont.
Have a look at my reviews.
Warbis,
After having been to another Yelloh site, we had thought of going to La Littoral.
This year when we stayed in Domaine Des Forges , we went to look at it and we were really disappointed with the camping/ touring caravan area. The pitches didnt look to be very big and the area they were in felt "crowded". The toilet facilities were just ok.
We had been going to book there instead of DDF but were wary of getting our caravan onto the pitches. Now glad we didn't go, but the rest of the site looked good.
Probably a much better site if you stay in a static.
A real shame as it is in a good location.
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
If youre looing for a beach site in that area, as a first time visit I'd suggest you consider south east Brittany instead. Its a much nicer area, and like the Vendee it has loads of beach campsites. Take a peek at the carnac area. I really like the look of camping les Druids which is 5-10 mins from the beach and isnt too big/mad. We had a look around it last year, ver nice, but there are others nearby which people rave about too - La Plage and La Baie may be of interest.
Check out the campsite search facility above. Theres loads of reviews from the Vendee and Brittany. I find it useful to get the users perspective, even if I dont necessarily agree with all of them.
We went to la foret 2 years ago. Nice site and plenty of families there. Theres a swimmimng pool, takeaway (mussells and chips were scrummy!) and you ordered your bread/croissants etc the day before. Owners helpfull. I liked it as it was not right in the crowds at St jean de monts but you could walk to notre dame de monts. Mixture of english and dutch. We booked direct but I know Eurocamp independent advertise it.
