I've been comparing prices with Celtic Link and Irish Ferries for next summer on the Rosslare-Cherbourg route. I see that Celtic Link have a new boat from this Autumn. I also think I read somewhere that all food is included. Has anyone travelled with them recently and could let me know what they think?
There isn't much of a price difference in the basic cost (E60) but if the food is included that could make quite a big difference as IF is not exactly the cheapest place in the world to eat.
Any advice/info much appreciated

We use Irish Ferries because we like the offer of a free crossing to GB (worth 300 euros or so) with the car if we travel June, July or August. Our June crossing on 2nd June comes in at 504 Euros and we like to go to Roscoff so we will probably stick with them. We usually bring our own evening meal and wine on board with us courtesy of M&S (usually a salad) and just buy a light breakfast. I also like the bigger boat as the crossing is better in rough weather.
smikey,
Just replied to your other post.
Irish ferries, have in the past offered a free crossing to GB when you booked your direct crossing to France with them.
It is a good deal if you are able to use it like Marz did out of peak season dates. We had one two years ago but ended up not using it, as it was going to end up costing a lot.
The offer was for a return trip for a car plus two passengers, only free if used at certain times, other times then would have costs added. We could only use it during school holiday times and of course that meant extra costs, so it didnt work out that good a deal after all.
So far this year they havent this offer on, but for some reason their fares are pretty good, providing you dont have to go in July.
We go on 6th August and back 21st(I think) and the fare is working out at approx £640, which for four of us is not bad.
We live in Larne about two minutes from the harbour.

Here is the link to free crossing. Fares are due to increase on 15th December, I think. We will go on 2nd June and back 27th June as fares increase after those dates.
Hi Nee-Naw Nee-Naw, saw your other post. I'm planning to go in August. Looking like Rosslare to Cherbourg as it looks to be the best value and most relaxing as you said. I don't mind a long boat trip - chance to get a kip. Unfortunately will not be able to get the 'free' trip a we are using Tesco vouchers and I notice they exclude that in their t&c. thanks!
