Thanks Anie7,
Right, first of all please let me apologise if this has been asked either previously or on another thread etc but I'm sure you all know how stressful it is planning a trip, especially as our car isn't back yet from the repairers after a lovely drunk driver slammed into it... (they have assured us they will have it ready for when we go on Thursday )
Anyway, we've got our tag and we are as sure as we can be that it's active so we were ready to go. However, can anyone please tell us if all of the toll booth thingys have an unrestricted tag lane for us caravanners? Has anyone done a full run with the van on the back using a tag? I rang the Sanef UK branch and asked them and the chappie I spoke to said that there should be one at each point but didn't fill me full of confidence.
As I said, we go on Thursday and with all the other issues I have one nerve left and that's badly frayed... Any advice would be more than gratefully received.
Cheers all!

There should be a non height restricted lane at all tolls, for all the vans lorries etc. that will use them. I suspect the reason for the height restriction is that they then don't need to worry about the equipment they use for checking the vehicle heights - in case a car or a car with bikes on etc. goes through.
Worse case if the tag doesn't work, or whtever you ahev to take a ticket or pay cash. I think it says on the Sanef UK site to then give it to the tool both operator with the tag and they can charge it to the tag manually
Scrumble, thanks so much, that's a big relief and far more helpful than the Sanef chap I spoke to... He was about as much use as a fork in a flood.
I made the mistake of looking on Google maps and the first toll we came to had only 1 height restricted tag lane but this was probably an old picture and, like you say, I'm sure wagons etc use the tags as well so they must be able to get through some how.
Cheers
On a school trip to France in July the coach had a Sanef tag and it worked fine in the lane for lorries. The lane was always the furthest on the right so that may be standard across all of the autoroutes.
The non-stop (sans-arrêt) lanes will take any vehicle including trucks. I have used them a number of times.
These are being installed across the autoroutes as shown on this map

as are the télépéage lanes without height barriers which accept any vehicle.
The lanes with the orange hexagon logo (usually on the far right hand side) are for class 4 vehicles only

Thanks legenetay, the more re-assurance the better! I'll be a nervous wreck pulling up to the first toll thingy!
I will be using one for the first time this year but only in the standard tag lane. I know I am going to have one of those anxious "will it wont it" moments the first time we approach a toll booth but its showing in my account as activated and it will be mounted in the right place on the windscreen so you just gotta have faith.
good luck legenetay, I'm sure we will be fine! I'm fairly confident about the technology because no-one on here has said that they've failed (yet)...
I'm dreading getting there and not being able to fit through!
Like you said, we have to have faith and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and update you when we've been!
Have a great time,
Cheers

It works throughout France.
The only time you'll need to hunt out an APRR toll booth is for the least hassle way of exchanging the unit when the battery goes flat.

I think the tag I ordered is no good.
I got it from APRR - on reading the accompanying literature - APRR stands for AutoRoute Paris Rhine Rhone. So I think it means it covers that area only.
We are not travellng in those areas.
Will have to contact them and see.
Sorry Njones. I missed this reply to my post. Thanks for the advice. :)

Oh, maybe that's why a lorry beeped at me whilst sailing through the lane.. ?? ;)

Always used the far right lane last year, and was only beeped once.
