We stayed at Sylvamar approx 5 years ago so obviously can't give an up to date review of the site but a lot of the poor reviews cover the time period we were there and to be honest we would not have agreed with alot of comments. I suppose whatever site you go to people will have very different opinions and a lot depends upon what you expect from a site and where abouts on the site your pitch is. Personally the site and areas that have disappointed us most tend to be the ones other people rave about the most - I suppose there feedback just builds up your expectations.
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
We stayed for a week this summer in our tent. I would not rate it 5 star, maybe 3 star. Pitch was at the back of the site and was very sandy and dirty, the nearest shower / toilet block closed for the season during our stay (end aug start sept). Kids loved the swimming pool complex and we have young kids so the indoor pool was very good. The entertainment staff worked hard, shows were good and they really tried to be helpful, but overall I would say the site was too busy and squashed the pitches were very poor and I would not recommend it. The week before we had stayed at a Le Castle site in the Loire and it was so much better. We have stayed on two other Yelloh sites before and they have been prettier, cleaner etc ...
Hi, we are booked to go there this August and wondered if anyone could confirm whether we need to take our water hog ? I've seen on the site that the Empl Grd Confort *** pitches have a water connection ? thanks
