hi every one, is there any one who knows of a good campsite in spain for long term, ie, 4--6 months?? idealy somewhere like benidorm, el campelo, santa polo, within walking distance of sea front without being ripped of.

just emailed one site in benidorm, quoted from, 2nd april--end september, £3,600. the motorhome will not be in use for all of  that time, we intend to drive to it, the ideal scenario would be a site with a back lot for storage, then a pitch for when we use it, but is it just me who feels some of these sites take the biscuit??.

with a motorhome, i,m self contained, i could do without electric, or i could pay for the electric seperate, i can rent a villa/house in spain for £100, 150, per week seems a bit stiff.

I think this would be about the going rate during summer months. Winter is significantly cheaper and this is when most go for extended breaks.

I think what you need is a farmer or similar with a bit of land spare.

Works out at £20pn, so very reasonable for summer months on Spanish coast, its over winter you get the cheap long term prices. You need to look at inland sites for a cheaper price. If you mean you are not going to be using motorhome the whole time it would be cheaper to park it in caravan storage & stop on campsites as & when. Spanish campsites are generally never full even at peak times, you will always get in somewhere.

hi again,we have travelled in low season, but find it a little dead, thought we might try summer, plus kids can travel over, weve also spent a bit of time on wildcamping on the beach but to be frank its a bit gypsy, ish for more than three days, portugal is far more reasonable on prices, £150 for a pitch per week is fair, in summer, for one-two weeks, shurly i cant be the only one who thinks this, as tentz points out, many of the sites are empty even in high summer. i just didnt want the hassle of getting on and of over six months. thanks neil and lena, ive had a look at that alegria, it dos seem a lot better. thanks,

We saw a post recently on another caravan forum recommending Camping lo Monte at Pilar de la Horadada south of Alicante. It's a new campsite, very smart, and  apparently very cheap if you stay 6 months.  www.campings.com/camping-lo-monte.
