Read a topic a week ago approx from a poster saying that reg plates need the name of the fitter or garage that supplied them or you could risk a fine when driving in France.  Was telling a friend about this but could not remember the exact details and now can't find the post.  Can the original poster or anyone who contributed to the thread find it please.

There was somthing a while back, about expats living in France, with a UK registered car, after a certain amount of time, the car needs to be registered in France, to the owners address in France, and French plates have to be purchased.

The funny bit is that the French plates have to be pot rivited to the vehicle, (or maybe glued) regular screw fixings like what we use in the UK are not permitted, and some expats have been fined, when thier French plates have not been affixed in the correct manner.
