Just googled the France Show (on now at Earls Court for the weekend) hoping for a discount code for DFDS but it looks like the offer is for wine tastings!  Very nice but I'm a bit miffed to pay £71 for a solo crossing - 2 adults/car 20 Aug - 23 Sept.  P & O is worse at £99

Not too bad I suppose - but would have been cheaper a few months ago I think.

With the reduced competition on the short crossings I have no great hopes for an offer in February and I'm afraid to hold on much longer in case prices go north. I tried EC2012 as a code as NEC2011 was good last year, but to no avail.

I don't think the details of any of the previous show offers have ever appeared on the relevant websites - it's only people who are there who have passed on the codes.

If nothing comes up then it might still be worth while looking at the Camping Cheques website, which is still offering their DFDS deal.

Phew, aren't I glad we bit the bullet and booked both return crossings in October - even though we have already amended them twice!

I have been told they will be offering a discount code at the show.

We did have an email from DFDS (OR from the France Show) mentioning their 'special show ferry offers'!

I think it must have been the France Show Val.  I subscribe to DFDS for their offers and I didn't get a Dover Dunkerque one I'm pretty sure.

Wouldn't have just been "special offers" rather than ferry offers?  They have some offer for wine tasting something or other - maybe a screening?

Only DFDS offers I've seen have been for longer crossings or day returns.

I'll hang on till the weekend but will book after that in case prices go up again.I'll check out camping cheques but we use ACSI mostly

Anyone who has been to the show please post any codes on offer

It's still worth checking - as the total cost of the ferry and camping cheques may be less than the DFDS price for the ferry alone.

Nothing posted here yet so methinks there's been no codes available?

If there's nothing by Monday I'll go ahead and book at current prices - can't risk another fares hike!  I had a look on Camping Cheques Val, but at first attempt it was giving me an outbound fare and 3 cheques but no inbound until I put in my card details.  Did I do something wrong?  Must try again.

Hmm, just tried again and campingcheques website is misbehaving.

I've just tried again with the box ticked for the instant ferry quote and when I fill out the details (three times) it asks for my outbound ferry time but the popup box for times doesn't operate.  Will try a call.

The French show ends today, time yet I guess for any UKS visitors to post the code if there is one, strange how no one has reported back yet, as to what DFDS (NorfolkLine) are offering at the show.

so it looks like no offers then, is it worth waiting for the Motorhome, caravan and camping show in London in Feb or do you think I should book?

Well it's up to you but I decided to go ahead. £71 for my solo crossing Aug Sept was the same price as I paid earlier for the car caravan crossing May June.
But I thought it wasn't worth the risk of a further price hike due to less competition against the possibility ? Of future codes.

It's a hard call, but I do tend to agree with Oxter on this one especially for anyone with a caravan, going in peak season, when dates and times, especially towing, are selling out. Already on the DFDS website some sailings are not available.   I don't know if you're taking a trailer, (the Hintons) but I've tried this morning with Camping Cheques (the website is working OK for me) and the cheapest crossing I could find for August, including 3 Camping Cheques, is going out on a Sunday and returning Friday.  The cost depends on times, too, so it's a bit of a long-drawn-out process.  However, the price, including the Camping Cheques, was acually cheaper than the price for just the crossing alone with DFDS direct, comparing like for like

There is always a market, though, for the Camping Cheques, which does bring the cost down even more.

I stupidly delayed booking in October, but went with DFDS via the CC for not much more money, the downside being that we too have amended the booking, twice, and so have been charged fees which means it's already cost us half as much again!

If you are definite with your dates, and crossing times, it might be worth checking out the Caravan Club site?
