Hi,liking the look of this site but need to know what the weather is like for mid august and if anyone has stayed there.

Have been on the website but can't download the prices(not using camping cheques).

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks

Weather could be anything - probably the same as the south coast of England on a summer day, but you could be unlucky and have rain.  Unfortunately no one can ever guarantee the weather.

good site  indoor pool   playground   section for tourers as well as tourers amongst statics   primarily static site     wifi available    good clean loos   hot showers   not overcrowded due to many statics    been there with my daughter twice now  no problems whatsoever    on edge of small village but without shops although one on site   rue is only 5 miles away with a good supermarket- aimed at locals not 'pesky' holidaymakers    chateau in village  nice to walk from site and round the village   good runs for the runners and biking for the bikers     beach   the choice is yours   wonderful flat dunes with sand yachts mussel beds dunes    quiet beaches and also children's play area busy beaches    crococile park nearby   nature reserve nearby  st valery sur somme good place to visit  as are montreuil  le touquet  fort mahon  even bagatelle pleasure park (if you can stand it)

as you can see we enjoyed it  and my daughter's 4 kids loved it and will probably be back there this year  - in august!!

weather - you name it   wonderful/wet,sunny/rainy   it is coastal  it is the channel   it is very much like the south of england   but the most important thing about it - it is france    it is not the south of france where it is red hot at times but it can be very pleasant and more than likely hotter than england   -  just go.

There's nowt you can do about the weather - we were in the middle of France near Limoges last year and had to put the jeans back on and disaster or disasters, we had to put the heating on in the van  never done that in 30 years of touring in france- never

We have only used it as an overnight stop which was in late August. We arrived mid/late afternoon and were lucky to get a pitch so you might have to think about booking. We found it perfectly fine for our purposes.

We stayed there once to meet friends for 1 night and were not that impressed with it. They have a tourer (grassed) area which was supposed to take 10 tourers, but there were 12 of us on it, other tourers are put in between statics of which there are a lot (our friends were in between statics which they did not like).

But others like the site, it does have a good pool, but personally I wouldn't go there again, we usually go to La Ferme des Aulnes, which is about 5 miles or so from there.

la ferme des aulnes is fine but val d'authie has lots more to offer  no contest in my opinion    the tourer section is across the road and therefore off site   it is adjacent to the main road which can be busy   play facilities for kids is better at val d'authie     being between statics is not a problem - I was in the tourer section at the back of the site and was able to have a chat with folk in the statics without any problem    the issue of course is, given its location in the north is probably  a tendancy for people not to speak english therefore a non-french speaker will have problems

Camped at Ferme Des Aulnes and Val D'Authie and I'd agree that Val probably just about edges it.

As others have said take your pick for weather, as you would at home in August.

Indoor pool is good and can cater for any weather.

Just goes to show that different sites appeal to different people!

I wouldn't say that the main road outside La Ferme des Aulnes could be classed as busy at any time though, yes, some cars use it obviously, but definitely would not say that it has ever been busy when we've been there.

Not sure I understand what you mean with your last paragraph: I was in the tourer section at the back of the site and was able to have a chat with folk in the statics without any problem the issue of course is, given its location in the north is probably a tendancy for people not to speak english therefore a non-french speaker will have problems I speak French quite well and will have a conversation with any French person. In fact, I am Dutch, so can hold a conversation in more than one language! That is not my issue about being in the middle of statics at all. I just don't like being in the middle of them on a site, whether in the UK or abroad.

As I said, different things appeal to different people, or it does not
